This blog post will help you to get the best activewear clothing without breaking the bank and at the same time will give you an idea on how to put together easy and comfortable workout outfits as easy than less of 2 minutes. One thing you need to know is that you should wear comfortable clothes without compromising style, I said comfortable, not frumpy. lol. Those days that you want to wear to the gym the clothes you thought to donate once but decided to save them for when you paint your house are over. Going to the gym is a another activity that as human beings socialize and interact with other human beings, therefore we need to look good and presentable as well. Ok?. Step number one: let’s cover the basics; keep reading to find out what type of clothing you need for your first day at the gym.
ACTIVEWEAR BASICS – THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED
LEGGINGS
Leggings – Try to wear high waisted leggings, especially if you have a love-handle situation. The high waisted leggings will help you to smooth that area and at the same time you will work out comfortable and self-confident that you wont; be showing skin everywhere.
SPORTS BRA
Sports Bra – You will need a good sport bra, one that really provides you support when you work out. There are 3 types of bras: The high support, medium support and the low support. High Support Sports Bra is ideal for running, boxing, soccer and basketball. The Medium Support Sports Bra is perfect for circuit training, cycling , volleyball and tennis. Low Support Sports Bras are perfect for weight-lifting, hiking, yoga, barre and pilates.
Now that you know the type of sports bra, and since this blog is for beginners what to wear to the gym, the ideal supports bra that you need is a Low Support bra. Adidas has a variety of Low support bras.
SNEAKERS
Sneakers: You will need a good pair of sneakers that will bring you support and comfort when you are working out. I am a big Advocate of Adidas, they have the best sneakers for working out at the gym, plus they look amazing with lounging outfits as well
SPORTS JACKET
Sports Jacket . I highly recommend that you get one jacket, especially if you live on areas that have cold weather. When you work out there is an increase in muscle temperature. The heat is distributed to the body by the circulation and increases body temperatures, therefore you want to cold down gradually. Putting on a jacket or layering keeps your body at higher temperatures for longer, meaning you continue the nourishment of your muscles, continue your sweat, slowing down the cool down process.
SPORTS WRAP TOP
Long Sleeve Sports Tops – Another piece of clothing that is good to have to keep the muscle temperatures optimal plus they look pretty cute.
TANK TOP
Tank Top. The tank top is a nice to have but very handy on those days that you are working out with just your sports bra and you do not want to reveal too much. This tank top is versatile because you can wear it with loungewear outfits as well.
WATER BOTTLE
Water Bottle- This is self-explanatory, you will need to drink water during your workout, it is just natural, and believe me, you will want to have your own water bottle close to you all the time to have rapid access to the precious liquid right away.
TOTE BAGS & BACKPACKS
You will need a bag or a backpack to put all your activewear items, a towel and your water bottle. I have this Adidas black tote and have been carrying it for almost 2 weeks now/ Let me tell you that I can’t live without it, it is so roomy! I go to the gym after work, and change my office outfit to my workout outfit at the gym, I needed a bag that can fit my office outfit and shoes and this tote is meeting all the requirements.
