Whether you have the money or not, let’s all agree that being elegant and classy is not about the size of your wallet. The first thing that comes to our minds when we think about elegant and classy women is that they have a polished look, they have a perfect sense of style and elegance and they are super self-confident. As everything, there are rules that involves certain behavior that differentiate classy from non-classy women. A classy lady is a woman that dresses modest, has sophistication and elegance on all what she does. Here are 5 basic etiquette rules to be a classy and sophisticated woman.
1. DRESS MODEST
A classy woman will never dress showing her attributes. It is that simple. Showing cleavage is absolutely a no no for a classy woman. Dressing provocative is simple a thing that is not necessary to be classy. In fact, it is the opposite of being classy. The rule of old money is applicable for this rule. Classy woman does not need to dress with tight clothes or remark her curves to grab the attention. A classy and elegant women knows she will be the attention anyway because of her gracious and manners.

2. AVOID DRESSING WITH EXCESIVE DESIGNER LOGO
Classy woman does not need to flash the logo of her designer clothing. The less is better. Classy woman does not need to dress just with only designer clothing, in fact, to be a classy woman is not necessary to buy designer clothes. However, classy woman knows that buying quality over quantity is the way to buy clothes.
3. BE PUNCTUAL
Being on time is an etiquette rule that is super important. Being punctual (or even before) will give the first positive impression and shows respect for other’s people time. If for some reason you can’t make it on time or can’t attend, send a note or communicate your nonattendance 48 hours in advance. The advance notification will depend on the type of event, sometimes if you know that you can’t make it right away , well, notify your nonattendance right away then. That gesture will give enough time for your host to prepare, accommodate or re-schedule the event and won’t leave a negative perception that you do not care.
4. SAY “THANK YOU”
Saying “Thank You” is a sign of appreciation and gratitude for others. Classy women practice this all the time because they want to make sure everybody is appreciated. This is a basic one with a super power that everybody should practice.
5. DO NOT USE SWEAR WORDS
Another basic rule that definitely a truly elegant and classy woman do not practice is to use swear words . By the nature of my job (I am an engineer) I have had the opportunity to chat with women that look just impeccable, high level executives (for instance) and suddenly as soon they start feeling comfortable during the conversation they start saying the “f” word to emphasize something they want to talk about and so on. As they continue talking and using the “f” word everything the perception of that super woman just vanishes and I can see how the magic disappears little by little.
