Let’s kick off this 2023 with achievable and realistic resolutions that will make us accountable and feel better.
May this 2023 year be full of grand adventures and opportunities to do our best. Here are 8 resolutions for this new year.
1. TIME TO TAKE YOUR FINANCES UNDER CONTROL: CREATE A BUDGET
Girl, I mean it, if there is one resolution from this list that you need to start right away is this one: create a budget. It is time to take control of your finances and track where your money is going. Have you ever asked yourself ” Where is my money going?” or said “I do not understand why I always end with no $ to save”. Chances are that you do not have a budget!. A budget will allow you to use your money wisely giving you the opportunity to eliminate unnecessary expenses, eliminate debt and start saving money.
You can create your own budget using Microsoft Excel in your computer or if you prefer the old school method (my favorite one) just use a notebook and pen. Now these days you can buy budget planners with helpful tools and tables. I found super cute ones for less than $15 on Amazon.

2. EXERCISE TO FEEL BETTER
Whether is a walk at the park, a hike with the family or a whole day at the gym, try to enjoy it. Exercise should be done to feel better. It is a commitment to yourself. Honored it and have fun. When I struggle to go to the gym I like to wear cute activewear, that is my motivation.

3. EAT HEALTHY
You know all this: stay away from processed foods, minimize alcohol, sodas and sugars and do not forget to drink enough water. You know all that stuff, nothing new here. Try to just eat better in general and make better decisions when it comes to food. It sounds simple but I know, it requires a lot of discipline.

4. TAKE THE VACATION YOU HAVE BEEN DREAMING ABOUT
Vacation is a good way to take a break of your daily routine and recharge. Taking vacation is healthy and is needed. For instance, that trip to Paris that you have been dreaming about for years or that vacation trip to Los Cabos just you and your hubby. There will be always something on the way to make you think that is not the perfect time to take your vacation “work is crazy right now, can not leave and take a break” ; “the kids are not old enough , we won’t enjoy our vacation“. I have news for you, the perfect moment does not exist and won’t come to you, you just need to make it happen.

5. CREATE A VISION BOARD
A vison board is a collage of images , photos and key words related to a person’s wishes or goals with the purpose to serve as inspiration or motivation during the year. Dr. Wayne Dyer, a famous motivational speaker said “In order to make visualization a reality in the world form, you must be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen”, in other words if you can visualize it, you can make it happen if you are willing to put the hard work, and that is exactly the purpose of a vision board.
You can create a vision board on your iphone using Canva app ( you can buy vision boards templates on etsy ) or just keep it traditional and make your own using a piece of paper or cardboard using images from magazines and newspapers or even better, you can draw your own.

6. DRESS BETTER TO FEEL BETTER
There are several psychology studies that show that dressing better affects directly your mood. So, the next time you are feeling a little bit down try to wear a nice outfit to boost your self-confidence to the next level.

7. DECLUTTER
Clutter is not good for anybody. Clutter sucks your energy and has the ability to put you down and not think clearly. Get rid of unnecessary things at home that you absolutely never going to need or wear. Donate and recycle as much you can or if you want to make an extra cash, sell the items you do not need at sites like eBay, Mercari or Poshmark.

8. BE KIND
